For anyone following this blog - my apologies. I have been so busy trying to find employment that my photography blog has fallen to the wayside. I hope to share more of my photo excursions in the future. Today I went for a walk with my wife, daughter and dog and decided to turn it into a photowalk with only a Canon Ef 50mm f/1.8 lens and see what happens. Our walk was about 4km in the Maple Ridge area in the afternoon (sunny with clouds).

Sunrise photos
Tomorrow I will do my best to get out of bed before sunrise and take photos of the Golden Ears from a similar location where I shot the sunset photos - which I need to process and post on flickr.
I'll keep you posted on how it went, and if I crawled out of bed :)

Sunset on Golden Ears
Two days ago I did my second ever landscape photo shoot. I went to the dikes in Maple Ridge and shot some cool pics of the Golden Ears mountains and landscape. It was an overcast day, but I was fortunate enough to have the sun come through the clouds for most of the shots. I need to process the pics from RAW and then I'll post a few on flickr and give a link.

I'm Back
Well it's been three years since I've written in this blog. I write in another blog with wordpress at ericfehr.wordpress.com, but have decided to write on digital photography. I am a 'canonite', that is I shoot with a Canon Rebel XS DSLR. My gear consists of the kit lens - EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and a Canon EF 75-300 mm f/4-5.6 USM III. I also have a Remote Switch RS-60E3 for tripod work, a Manfrotto 190XDB tripod with ball head mount and a Lowepro Slingshot 200AW (this is a great gear bag for a beginner). I don't have an external flash yet. The one lens I am saving up for is the 'Nifty 50' - a canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 USM.Great for low light photo's or many other applications. Another lens I would like to own is a 11-24 mm for landscape photography.

Until next time, happy shooting!
